Landfill Oversight

Nye County, Nevada

BEC was subcontracted by MaryEllen C. Giampaoli, Environmental Compliance Specialist, to provide technical assistance in support of developing Nye County’s landfill oversight and compliance program. Activities included reviewing pertinent Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS), County regulations, and current operating permit, to develop the inspection guidance document, inspection checklists and templates for a Notice of Inspection and Transmittal and Summary of Findings Report. BEC facilitated coordination between Nye County Public Works and the contracted Landfill Operator to develop the Program.

Additionally, BEC provided training and support to Nye County’s Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) in conducting oversight inspections and technical review of inspection reports prepared by Nye County’s CEM. 		Client
